I smoke baby back ribs start to finish 2 1/2 hrs 6 racks at a time cut in half with a dry rub. rotating the rack half thru smoking time. Smokeing the ribs on the low part of the Ideal temp gage on grill cover..... You can not screw this up. I also smoke salmon that will melt in your mouth. Highly recommend this smoker.

[...]. The metal seems somewhat thin. The top does not seat well and I lose a lot of smoke. I bought it as a smoker because I have a large grill and dont need to use the smoker as a grill. because it loses a lot of smoke it goes through wood chunks pretty quickly.

I bought this but did not get return insurance. It arrived with the main unit bent. The top does not fit snuggly and although I havent used it yet, water runs down the inside when it rains and it is rusting. I believe the first time I use it the openings on the side of the top will let out too much smoke. This was an unfortunate mistake.

I chose this grill from reading reviews by Cooks Illustrated. My husband went King Salmon fishing and I knew he would bring back more fish then I would know how to prepare. I recently used it myself for smoking turkey. The meat and smoker both got rave reviews!
